“Open Doors for Open Hearts”

If there is a problem between us, it is not because of a lack of love on our part, but because you have withheld your love from us.  I am talking now as I would to my own children. Open your hearts to us!  II Corinthians 6:12-13

Paul is pouring his heart to the brothers and sisters in Corinth pleading with them to open up their hearts to him so that he may minister to them and be a spiritual father to his spiritual children in the faith.  So many times we withhold our love from others by being so closed and to ourselves about the difficulties with face in life.  It is true that the Lord has the ultimate answers to all our problems and trials, yet He calls us to come together as one body and bear one another’s burdens so that the load on this earth may be lightened.  Paul is concerned that the folks in Corinth are suffering trials and keeping them under the lock and key of their closed hearts rather than asking for prayer and support from him and the Body.  Let us all be reminded that God has called together as a church with Christ as the head so that we may support one another through thick and thin with open hearts and confidential ears.  AMEN.
